Experience
Sleep under the Makgadikgadi stars
A short, strange and beautiful addition to any Botswana trip.
By the Cawejo team
The Makgadikgadi Pans are among the largest salt pans in the world: a flat, white landscape that stretches to the horizon. With almost no light pollution, the night sky here is extraordinary.
In the dry season, guided outings onto the pans let you experience the space and silence up close. In the green season, the rains bring the grasslands to life and draw zebra and wildebeest onto the pans.
Two nights is enough to feel the place, and it works beautifully as a contrast to the water and wildlife of the Delta.
